The short answer
For contractors, the choice is usually a van (Ram, Chevrolet Express, Ford Transit) for enclosed tools and shelving, a chassis cab (Silverado 3500HD, Ram 3500–5500) for a dump, flatbed or service body, or a heavy-duty pickup (Super Duty, Ram 2500/3500, Silverado HD) for trailers. Swant Graber sells Chevrolet, Ram and Ford, so you can compare all three on one block in Barron.
Swant Graber is not a Ram BusinessLink, Chevrolet Business Elite or Ford Pro Commercial Vehicle Center dealer, so the perks those programs list at participating dealers don't apply here. Ask us which manufacturer commercial incentives apply to the vehicle you're buying.

Which body style?
Match the body to the work
- Van: tools, parts and shelving out of the weather, and a locking cargo area
- Chassis cab: a dump, flatbed, stake or service body sized to the job
- Heavy-duty pickup: trailers, a plow, and a crew on board
Watch for
- You need a dump or service body: a pickup bed won't take it
- You tow over a van's rating
- You need walk-in height: compare roof heights before you order
Upfits and warranty
Upfit equipment from an independent supplier isn't covered by the vehicle manufacturer's new-vehicle warranty; Chevrolet says so on its Business Elite page, and Mopar says its warranty doesn't cover changes to a vehicle's configuration such as a food-service conversion. Get the upfitter's warranty in writing.
Manufacturer commercial programs
| Program | What the manufacturer lists |
|---|---|
| Ram BusinessLink | Enrollment with a tax ID or business documents; Business Link dealers list perks such as next-available-bay service, loaners and an upfitter network |
| Chevrolet Business Elite | A dealer representative, upfit recommendations, extended service hours and work-ready loaners at Business Elite dealers |
| Ford Pro Commercial Vehicle Centers | 730+ centers for commercial customers with sales, service and upfit options for Class 1–7 vehicles |
Swant Graber is not a participating dealer in any of these three programs. We sell and service Chevrolet, Ram and Ford work vehicles, our service departments are open weekdays 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and service loaners are available (ask when you book).

Questions
What's the best work van for a contractor near Barron?

Can I get a dump or flatbed body on a new truck?
Chassis cabs like the Silverado 3500HD and Ram 3500–5500 are built to take bodies from upfitters. Ask about the body you need and the timing.
Does the factory warranty cover my upfit?
Not equipment from an independent supplier; Chevrolet says it isn't covered by the GM New Vehicle Warranty. Get the upfitter's warranty.
