Winter and road-salt protection

Barron County roads get salted and brined from November into April. That salt sits in frame rails, rocker panels and wheel wells, and it keeps working long after spring. Undercoating and a rust inhibitor won't make a truck immune, but they give the metal a fighting chance.

• Undercoating: $755
• Rust inhibitor: part of the $1,399 Appearance Package. It keeps air and water off exposed metal.
• Molded mud flaps (Husky/WeatherTech): $205. These cut down the slush you throw onto your own rockers.
• WeatherTech custom-molded floor mats: $140 first row, $110 second row (call for second row). Salt and slush stay on the mat, not in the carpet.
• Spray-in bedliner: no gaps for salty water to sit in the bed.
