How long the powertrain coverage really lasts

Kelley Blue Book reports that Gold's 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage is calculated from the vehicle's original in-service date, the day it was first sold new. A 3-year-old F-150 with 36,000 miles therefore has about 4 years and 64,000 miles of powertrain coverage left, whichever ends first. Ask us for the in-service date and the end date printed on the warranty paperwork before you sign.

Who Gold fits

  • You want a late-model Ford truck or SUV and plan to keep it past the factory warranty.
  • You want Ford-backed coverage that any Ford dealer can honor, not a dealer-only warranty.
  • You may sell privately later: the transferable warranty is a resale point.
