Short answer: The 2027 Trax comes in LT ($23,700), RS ($26,500) and ACTIV ($26,500). Every trim gets the 11.3-inch touchscreen, 11-inch driver display and 20-plus safety features. RS and ACTIV cost the same, so the choice is style.

What's new for 2027
- New front end with slim daytime running lights, new grille and headlamps.
- LED taillamps and a redesigned liftgate.
- New wheel designs on every trim; RS keeps 19-inch wheels.
- New Lagoon paint color.
- Standard 11.3-inch touchscreen and 11-inch driver display.
- More standard safety and driver-assistance features.
- Simplified lineup: LT, RS and ACTIV. Some GM materials call the base trim “Trax”; Chevrolet.com calls it LT.
What carries over
The 1.2L turbo three-cylinder (137 hp, 162 lb-ft), 6-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. No powertrain changes had been announced as of October 31, 2026. Numbers: Trax specs, cargo and mpg.
Which trim should you pick?
- LT if value matters most — the big screens and safety tech that used to cost extra are standard now.
- RS if you want the sportier look and the heated steering wheel, which is welcome on January mornings in Barron.
- ACTIV if you like the rugged styling and the new interior. It's a look, not an off-road package — the ACTIV is still FWD.

2026 five-trim ladder vs 2027 three-trim ladder
2026 (on lots): LS $21,700, 1RS $23,200, LT $23,200, 2RS $25,700, ACTIV $25,700 (Chevrolet.com, Oct 31, 2026). 2027: LT $23,700, RS $26,500, ACTIV $26,500. Moving from LT to 2RS/ACTIV is styling, not mechanicals — same 1.2L turbo, 6-speed and FWD. The LS keeps wireless CarPlay, Safety Assist, LED headlights and Active Noise Cancellation. What is the difference between the Trax 1RS and 2RS?
Both have RS styling; the 2RS adds the 11-inch screen, 8-inch driver display, 19-inch wheels and LT-level comfort, for $2,500 more on the 2026.
Which Trax trim is the best value?
For most buyers the LT: 11-inch screen, remote start and automatic climate for the same price as the 1RS.
What's new on the 2027 Trax?
New styling front and rear, LED taillamps, new wheels, a standard 11.3-inch touchscreen and 11-inch driver display, 20-plus standard safety features, a new Lagoon color and a new ACTIV interior.
Is the 2027 Trax RS more expensive than the ACTIV?
