Short answer: SuperCab has smaller rear-hinged half-doors and tighter rear seats — good for tools and occasional passengers. SuperCrew has four full front-hinged doors and the most rear legroom — best for car seats and adults. SuperCrew comes with a 5.5- or 6.5-ft bed, SuperCab with a 6.5-ft bed, and Regular Cab with a 6.5- or 8-ft bed. A SuperCrew 5.5 is about 231.7 inches (~19.3 ft) long, so it usually fits a 20-ft garage, but measure first.
Specs on this page are Ford's published “properly equipped” figures for the current F-150 as of October 31, 2026, or are marked as reported/approximate. Ford had not published full 2027 F-150 specs; we'll update when it does. Your exact truck's numbers are on its window sticker and door-jamb label.
Cab and bed combinations
| Cab | Doors | Rear seat | Bed lengths | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Cab | 2 | None | 6.5 ft or 8 ft | Work, farm, fleet, plow trucks |
| SuperCab | 4 (rear half-doors open only after fronts) | Tighter, best for kids or short trips | 6.5 ft | Tools and gear inside, long bed, lower price |
| SuperCrew | 4 full doors | Full-size adult legroom, flat floor | 5.5 ft or 6.5 ft | Families, car seats, road trips, resale |
Availability by trim varies: higher trims (King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor) are SuperCrew only.
SuperCab vs SuperCrew: which do you need?
- Choose SuperCab if the rear seat mostly holds a toolbox, dog or occasional passenger and you want the 6.5-ft bed without the longest wheelbase.
- Choose SuperCrew if adults or rear-facing car seats ride in back, you take long trips, or you care about resale — SuperCrew 4x4 XLT and Lariat trucks are the most in-demand used F-150s.
- The 5 vs 6 passenger page covers bench vs bucket seats up front.
5.5-ft or 6.5-ft bed on a SuperCrew?
The 5.5 parks easier and fits more garages; the 6.5 carries a snowmobile on a deck, a four-wheeler with the gate closed, or 8-ft lumber with the tailgate down more comfortably. The 6.5 SuperCrew adds roughly a foot of length and can change the tow rating (see towing).
Will an F-150 fit in my garage?
| Configuration | Approx. overall length | 20-ft (240 in) garage |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Cab 6.5 ft | ~210 in | Fits with room |
| SuperCab 6.5 ft | ~232 in | Fits, tight |
| SuperCrew 5.5 ft | ~231.7 in (~19.3 ft) | Fits, tight |
| SuperCrew 6.5 ft | ~244 in | Usually does not fit |
| Regular Cab 8 ft | ~228 in | Fits, tight |
Lengths are approximate and vary by year, bumper and hitch; a receiver hitch or tow ball adds several inches. Measure wall to door, then subtract room to walk around.
Height check: 4x4 F-150s stand roughly 6.5 ft tall, more with a Tremor or a bed rack. Most 7-ft garage doors clear, but roof racks may not.
Bed features worth knowing
- Pro Access Tailgate: folds down normally, and its center door swings open up to 100° so you can reach in even with a trailer hitched.
- Tailgate work surface and Pro Power Onboard outlets in the bed (2.0 kW on gas engines, 2.4/7.2 kW on PowerBoost) for tools and tailgating.
- Bedliner: spray-in is the Wisconsin favorite for salt and ice-fishing gear.
Aluminum body: durability and repair
The F-150's high-strength aluminum-alloy body doesn't red-rust like steel — a real plus with Wisconsin road salt — and the frame remains steel. Collision repair needs an aluminum-certified body shop, which can raise repair cost and time; ask your insurer and body shop before you need them.

More cab, bed and garage questions
Regular Cab vs SuperCab vs SuperCrew?
SuperCrew: four full-size doors and huge rear legroom. SuperCab: smaller rear-hinged doors, best for tools and occasional riders. Regular Cab: two doors, work spec.
What bed lengths are available?
5.5 ft, 6.5 ft and 8.0 ft, depending on cab: SuperCrew gets 5.5 or 6.5; the 8-ft box pairs with Regular Cab and SuperCab on select trims.
Is the Pro Access Tailgate standard?
It's available, not standard. A center door swings open about 100 degrees so you can reach the bed without dropping the tailgate — handy with a trailer hitched.
What is the F-150 frame made of?
A fully boxed high-strength steel frame under a high-strength, military-grade aluminum-alloy body.
Will a SuperCrew fit in my garage?
A SuperCrew 5.5-ft box is about 231.7 inches long and usually fits a 20-foot-deep garage with little room to walk; a 6.5-ft box adds about a foot. Measure door-to-wall first.
Does the F-150 offer a panoramic sunroof?
A twin-panel moonroof is available on SuperCrew models across many trims (XLT and up, Tremor and Raptor), standard on some top trims.
What is the Interior Work Surface?
On trucks with the console-mounted shifter, the shifter folds flat at the push of a button and the console lid flips into a flat desk for a laptop or paperwork. Available by trim.
F-150 questions
What's the difference between SuperCab and SuperCrew?
SuperCab has rear half-doors and tighter rear seats; SuperCrew has four full doors and full adult legroom.
What bed lengths does each F-150 cab offer?
SuperCrew: 5.5 or 6.5 ft. SuperCab: 6.5 ft. Regular Cab: 6.5 or 8 ft.
Will a SuperCrew F-150 fit in a 20-foot garage?

Which F-150 cab holds resale best?
SuperCrew 4x4, especially XLT and Lariat, is the most sought-after used configuration.
