The short answer
FX4 is Ford's off-road package for F-150, Super Duty and Ranger. On Super Duty, Ford lists off-road-tuned shocks, Hill Descent Control, fuel-tank and transfer-case skid plates, FX4 decals and an electronic-locking rear differential (limited-slip on dual-rear-wheel trucks).
On our stickers, FX4 was $1,320 on a 2026 F-150 XLT and $650 on 2027 Super Duty trucks; the sticker lists skid plates under it. FX4 is a package; Tremor is a bigger step (a model on F-150, a package on Super Duty).

FX4 vs. Tremor
Tremor goes further: on F-150 it's its own model with 33-in all-terrain tires, more ride height and a 3.73 locking rear axle; on Super Duty it's a package with 35-in tires and unique suspension. FX4 keeps the truck's regular tires and ride height on most configurations (check the sticker). See Ford Tremor, explained.
Is FX4 worth it in Barron County?
If you drive field roads, logging roads, a lake access or a steep driveway in winter, the locker and skid plates are the parts that matter. If the truck lives on pavement, the money may be better spent on tires. We can put an FX4 and a non-FX4 sticker side by side.

Does FX4 lift the truck?
Ford's descriptions for F-150, Super Duty and Ranger FX4 don't list a lift. Tremor (F-150) lists increased ride height.
Is FX4 the same on every Ford truck?
No. The contents and price differ by truck and year. Read the sticker for the exact VIN.
