Short answer
A dealer trade is an exchange between franchised dealers: we swap a vehicle from our inventory, or buy theirs, so the one you want comes to Swant Graber. The other dealer has to agree and the vehicle has to still be available.
Send us the model, trim, must-have equipment and your timing. A VIN or listing link speeds it up.
How a dealer trade works
Franchised dealers trade new inventory with each other all the time. If another dealer has the vehicle you want, we ask to trade for it, either by sending a vehicle from our inventory or by purchasing theirs. Once both dealers agree, we arrange to bring that vehicle to Barron and finish the deal here.
It only works if the other dealer agrees and the vehicle is still unsold when we ask, so speed matters.
Start with equipment, not color
Tell us what you can't live without (cab, bed, seating, drivetrain, towing package) and what you're flexible on (color, wheels, an optional package). The closest match with the right equipment usually beats the perfect color with the wrong axle.
Dealer trade vs. factory order
| Dealer trade | Factory order | |
|---|---|---|
| The vehicle | Already built, on another dealer's lot or in transit | Built to your configuration |
| Best when | You need it soon and can be flexible on small details | You want an exact build and can wait |
| What you send | Model, trim, must-haves, a VIN or listing if you have one | A saved build code or full option list |
| Can change? | The vehicle is what it is | Depends on the manufacturer's order cutoffs |
Ask for a confirmed, itemized quote
Before you commit, ask for the actual vehicle's price and an itemized total: the vehicle, its installed equipment, and taxes and fees. Compare it to the window sticker (Monroney label) for that VIN so you know exactly what you're getting.

Questions
Can Swant Graber get a vehicle from another dealer?
Often, yes. We can ask another franchised dealer to trade or sell us the vehicle you want. The other dealer has to agree and the vehicle has to be available.
Is a dealer trade the same as a factory order?
No. A dealer trade moves a vehicle that already exists. A factory order asks the manufacturer to build one to your configuration.
