Touring is the one most families should look at: Trailer Tow Prep is standard for 2027, Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow (61E) is optional on 4x4, BlueCruise comes with a 90-day trial on retail orders, and it unlocks the new Family Travel Package (90T) — Panoramic Vista Roof with power shade, third-row 40/20/40 PowerFold seats, 60W USB in the front seatbacks, a Flex Powered Console, 360-degree zone lighting and remote start.
Platinum (600A) and its packages
Platinum Elite is the base Platinum. From there: Stealth Appearance (60D) for blacked-out looks; Stealth Performance (19B), 4x4 only, adds the 440-hp High Output V6 plus Stealth looks; Platinum Ultimate (17A), 4x4 only, adds the High Output V6, BlueCruise and the lit grille bar and tailgate applique; and the new 30th Anniversary Appearance (91A), which includes the Platinum Interior Accent Package. Ultimate, Stealth Performance and 30th Anniversary can't be combined with each other.
Tremor (501A)
One group, 4x4, standard length, High Output V6. See Tremor explained.
King Ranch (400A)
Western-luxury cabin with wireless charging and the SecuriCode keypad standard. New for 2027 it can be ordered as a 4x2.
Where we'd spend the money

- Kids in all three rows: MAX plus the Family Travel Package on Active Touring is the sweet spot.

Safety and driver assists
Every Expedition carries Ford Co-Pilot360 essentials such as pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information with trailer coverage, rear cross-traffic alert and lane-keeping; Pro Trailer Backup/Hitch Assist became standard for 2025. Higher groups add 360-degree cameras and adaptive cruise. New for 2027 Ford lists a laminated windshield and a Security Package (67D).
Fuel economy is the same across trims
All use the 3.5L EcoBoost; EPA estimates run about 15-16 city / 22-24 highway. The HO and 22-in wheels cost a little in real life.
