Worth it?

Which packages to get

Convenience II on LT

The best $2,050 on the Equinox. Without it, an LT has a manual seat, single-zone climate and a manual liftgate.

Safety and Technology

Worth it if you park in tight spots or haul tall cargo: the 360° camera and camera mirror help most.

Convenience III

Heated rear seats are a real upgrade for kids in a Wisconsin winter; ventilated seats help in July.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Equinox have ventilated seats?

Yes, ventilated front seats come with Convenience Package III, which is offered on RS and ACTIV only. LT does not offer them.

Does the Equinox have a hands-free liftgate?

Yes. A hands-free power liftgate is standard on RS and ACTIV and comes with Convenience Package II on LT. Without it, the LT has a manual liftgate.

Is HD Surround Vision available on the Equinox?

Yes, on LT, RS and ACTIV through the Safety and Technology Package, which also adds a rear camera mirror, fog lamps, Rear Pedestrian Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Is the Midnight Edition available on the Equinox?

Yes, on the LT only. It adds black bowties and badging, black wheels and dark grille accents, so an LT can get a blacked-out look without moving up to the RS.

What is in the Equinox Convenience Package II?

An 8-way power driver seat with 2-way power lumbar, dual-zone automatic climate with a cabin humidity sensor, wireless phone charging, Rainsense wipers with heated wiper park, the AutoSense hands-free power liftgate, a universal home remote and, on LT, Evotex seats. It's $2,050 on LT and standard on RS and ACTIV.

What is in the Equinox Convenience Package III?

Ventilated driver and passenger seats, heated rear outboard seats, an 8-way power passenger seat with 2-way lumbar and driver memory. It's $1,095 and only on RS and ACTIV.

What does the Safety and Technology Package add?

A rear camera mirror, a rear camera washer (new for 2027), front fog lamps, HD Surround Vision (360° camera), Rear Pedestrian Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition. It's $1,140 on every trim. GM lists connected-camera capability as coming later via a software update.

What is Convenience Package I?

It's standard on every Equinox: remote start, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, illuminated visor mirrors and express windows.

Can I add Convenience Package III to an LT?

No. GM limits it to RS and ACTIV, so an LT can't get ventilated seats or heated rear seats.

Is the engine block heater worth it?

In Barron County, yes. It's a $100 factory option (K05), and it has to be on the order.
