The short answer
Black Appearance (17L) and Carhartt (17R) change wheels, tires, trim and bed protection, not capability ratings. Black Appearance was $4,295 on three of our 2027 Lariat stickers; Chrome (17C) was $1,650 on a 2027 Lariat.
The catch: Black Appearance is SRW 4x4 only and can't be combined with the Camper or Snowplow/Camper packages, per Ford's 2027 order guide. Plan your plow or camper before you pick a look.

What these packages rule out
- No DRW, no Camper (471) and no Snowplow/Camper (47B) with Black Appearance. If you plan to haul a slide-in camper or plow with a dually, this package is off the table.
- 20" wheels and the Camper Package don't mix. Ford's guide says the Camper Package (471) isn't available with 20" wheels.
- Tires change. 17L fits LT275/65R20E all-terrains. Price replacement tires in that size before you buy.
- Load ratings come from the door-jamb label, not the package. See payload and towing labels if that page is new to you.
Is it worth it?
A good fit if
- You want a finished look from the factory, under the new-vehicle warranty
- You'd add a spray-in bedliner anyway (Tough Bed is in 17L and 17R)
- You're buying a Lariat or XLT Crew SRW for towing a bumper-pull trailer
Look elsewhere if
- You plan to plow or carry a slide-in camper (check 471/47B first)
- You want 18" wheels and taller sidewalls for gravel roads
- You're on an XL or base XLT budget (STX is the XL option)

Questions
Does the Black Appearance Package change towing or payload?
Ford's order guide lists appearance, wheel, tire and bedliner content. Check the door-jamb label on the specific truck for its ratings.
Can I get Black Appearance on an F-350 dually?
No. Ford's 2027 order guide lists it on F-250/F-350 4x4 SRW only.
Do new trucks at Swant Graber have dealer add-ons?
No. New vehicles are priced at invoice with no dealer add-ons. Factory packages show on the Ford window sticker.
