The short answer
The Camper Package (471) adds extra heavy-service front springs, rear auxiliary springs and a rear stabilizer bar, and certifies the truck for a slide-in camper. It was $160 on a 2026 F-350 XLT on our lot.
The Snowplow/Camper Package (47B) is for dually (DRW) trucks only. It adds plow-rated springs and a higher-output alternator setup along with the camper content, per Ford's 2027 order guide.
471 vs 47B side by side
| Camper Package (471) | Snowplow/Camper Package (47B) | |
|---|---|---|
| Trucks | Super Duty pickups; not with 20" wheels, box delete or Tremor | DRW only; requires 4x4; 7.3L gas requires dual batteries (86M) |
| Springs | Extra heavy-service front springs; rear auxiliary springs | Plow-rated front springs; rear auxiliary springs |
| Stabilizer | Rear stabilizer bar | Rear stabilizer bar |
| Electrical | — | 350-amp dual alternators (7.3L gas) or 250-amp (diesel), per the order guide |
| Certification | Slide-in camper | Slide-in camper |
| Ride note | Ford notes ride quality is affected by the stiffer springs | Same |
| Price we saw | $160 (2026 F-350 XLT Regular Cab) | Not on a sticker we pulled |
Plowing with a single-rear-wheel truck
47B is DRW-only. Single-rear-wheel Super Duty trucks use the Snow Plow Prep Package (473) instead. Ford's 2026 Body Builders Layout Book lists what 473 includes and the maximum plow weights by cab and engine; our plowing guide has the table. Ford's guide also says the Heavy-Service Front Suspension (67H) can't be combined with 473.
Before you load a slide-in camper
- Read the truck's door-jamb payload label; a camper's wet weight plus people and gear has to fit under it.
- Ask the camper maker for the wet weight and center of gravity.
- Our camper truck guide covers towed campers.
Who should order it
A good fit if
- You'll haul a slide-in camper (471)
- You plow with a dually (47B)
- You want the springs and certification from the factory
Look elsewhere if
- You want 20" wheels (471 is not available with them)
- You want Black Appearance (not available with 471 or 47B)
- You rarely carry heavy loads and want the softest ride
Questions
Is the Camper Package worth $160?
If you'll carry a slide-in camper, yes: it's the factory spring, stabilizer and certification content. If you won't, the stiffer ride may not be worth it.
Can I get 47B on an F-250?
No. Ford's 2027 order guide lists 47B for DRW trucks only. SRW trucks use the Snow Plow Prep Package (473).
