Manual buyers: the 7-speed (with crawler “granny” gear and hill descent) is available only with the 2.3L on Base, Big Bend, Badlands and Heritage. Outer Banks, RTR, Filson and Raptor are automatic only. Want a V6 and a clutch? That combination doesn't exist for 2027.

RTR's 2.3L gets its own calibration with anti-lag and a Raptor-style 1,000-watt cooling fan (The Bronco Nation, Oct 12, 2026); Ford hasn't published its horsepower.

4x4 systems and suspension

  • Part-time selectable 4x4: Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks.
  • Advanced 4x4 with automatic on-demand: Badlands, Heritage, RTR, Filson, Raptor — and any Bronco with Sasquatch (765) or Black Diamond (51D).
  • Suspension: HOSS 1.0 (base), HOSS 2.0 with Bilstein dampers (Badlands), position-sensitive Bilstein with Sasquatch, HOSS 3.0 with FOX internal-bypass shocks (Badlands 52Z/Wildtrak 67B, RTR 67P, Filson), HOSS 4.0 with FOX Live Valve (Raptor).

Who each series is for

  • Base — cheapest way in; 2-door gets the hard top, 4-door gets the soft top.
  • Big Bend — most buyers' sweet spot; Mid (222A) adds heated seats and, for 2027, a heated wheel. Black Diamond (51D) adds steel bash plates, rear locker and a washout floor.
  • Outer Banks — the road-trip Bronco; 18-inch wheels, body-color trim, the V6 option.
  • Badlands — lockers, disconnecting sway bar with Sasquatch, Rock Crawl and Baja modes. The Wildtrak is now a Badlands package (67B).
  • Heritage Edition — white hard top, red FORD grille, plaid, Sasquatch standard.
  • RTR / Filson — new for 2027; see Filson and RTR.
  • Raptor — 37-inch tires, HOSS 4.0, the most capable and most expensive.

How ordering works at Swant Graber Ford

  1. Pick series, engine, transmission, top and packages with us (or bring your ford.com Build & Price summary — images there can differ from production, so we confirm codes against the order guide).
  2. We review the window-build printout (WBDO) with you line by line — codes like 765, 51D, 41H.
  3. We order new Fords at invoice pricing with no mandatory dealer add-ons.
  4. Ford acknowledges the order (DORA) and it waits for allocation and scheduling. 2027 order banks were reported to open October 13, 2026 (The Bronco Nation, Oct 12, 2026); timing to delivery varies — see our factory order timeline.

Barron, Wisconsin notes

  • Engine block heater (41H) is a factory option on every series — add it if the Bronco lives outside in January.
  • Remote start moved out of several Mid packages for 2027; check that your build includes it.
  • Soft top = no rear wiper. Salt spray makes that matter here.
  • 35-inch R/T tires are capable in snow but louder on the highway; a set of winter tires on stock wheels is still the best winter setup. See 4WD modes in winter.
  • Deer season: our deer-crash help page covers what to do after a hit.

Big Bend vs. Outer Banks vs. Badlands

  • Big Bend: value daily driver; Mid (222A) adds heated wheel and seats; Black Diamond (51D) adds bash plates and washout floor.

What makes the Raptor different

High-output 3.0L (418 hp reported, Bronco Nation, Oct 12, 2026 — replace with Ford's 2027 figure), HOSS 4.0 FOX Live Valve shocks, 37-inch tires, heavier axles and much wider body-color flares (roughly 9.8 in wider than base, Ford-cited earlier years), plus Tow/Haul mode and a 4,500-lb max tow rating.
