Ford Bronco 2-Door vs 4-Door

Ford Bronco 2-Door vs 4-Door

The 2-door is shorter and nimbler; the 4-door gets every trim, the V6 and the new RTR and Filson. For 2027 the choice narrows quickly.

Short answer: For 2027 the Ford Bronco 2-door is offered only on Base and Badlands, always with the 2.3L EcoBoost and a manual or automatic. Every other series — Big Bend, Outer Banks, Heritage, RTR, Filson and Raptor — is 4-door only, and the 3.0L V6 is 4-door only. Pick the 2-door for a short, nimble trail rig; pick the 4-door for kids, cargo, choice and the V6.

2027 Bronco pricing: Ford had not published full 2027 MSRPs as of October 31, 2026. Price signals here are reported (The Bronco Nation, Oct 12, 2026) and will be replaced with Ford's numbers once published.

Who should pick the 2-door

  • You want the tightest turning and best breakover on narrow trails.
  • You're fine with two real seats and a small cargo area.
  • You want a hard top standard on a Base and a manual.

Who should pick the 4-door

  • You'll carry kids, car seats, a dog or hunting gear.
  • You want the V6, Outer Banks comfort, Heritage looks, RTR or Filson.
  • You'll take long highway trips — the longer wheelbase rides calmer.

Tops by body

Soft top: no rear wiper — a real drawback in Wisconsin slush. Hard tops are quieter and warmer in winter. Door storage bags (87D) need a soft top; front top-panel bags (87E/87H) need a hard top. Tube doors are no longer a dealer accessory for 2027.

Garage and parking

Measure your garage before you order a 4-door with Sasquatch — height and length grow with 35s and the spare. Bring the measurements in and we'll check against ford.com specs.

How ordering works at Swant Graber Ford

  1. Pick series, engine, transmission, top and packages with us (or bring your ford.com Build & Price summary — images there can differ from production, so we confirm codes against the order guide).
  2. We review the window-build printout (WBDO) with you line by line — codes like 765, 51D, 41H.
  3. We order new Fords at invoice pricing with no mandatory dealer add-ons.
  4. Ford acknowledges the order (DORA) and it waits for allocation and scheduling. 2027 order banks were reported to open October 13, 2026 (The Bronco Nation, Oct 12, 2026); timing to delivery varies — see our factory order timeline.

Barron, Wisconsin notes

  • Engine block heater (41H) is a factory option on every series — add it if the Bronco lives outside in January.
  • Remote start moved out of several Mid packages for 2027; check that your build includes it.
  • Soft top = no rear wiper. Salt spray makes that matter here.
  • 35-inch R/T tires are capable in snow but louder on the highway; a set of winter tires on stock wheels is still the best winter setup. See 4WD modes in winter.
  • Deer season: our deer-crash help page covers what to do after a hit.

Size and legroom

The 4-door is roughly 16 inches longer overall (most of it in wheelbase), which is where the rear doors and extra rear-seat room come from. Rear-seat entry with car seats is far easier through a real door than over a folding front seat.

Spec marked "confirm" is Ford-published for 2021–2026 Broncos; we re-check 2027 figures on ford.com before quoting.

Dog crate test: a large crate fits behind the 4-door's rear seat; on a 2-door plan on folding the rear seat.

Can't decide? Dual Tops (66J) is available on 4-doors.

Taking doors and roof off

Front roof panels unlatch in minutes. Frameless doors take roughly 5–10 minutes each with the included tool kit. Mirrors are cowl-mounted, so they stay with the body when doors come off.

Where do the doors go?

On the 4-door, available storage bags (87D, soft top) let all four doors ride in the cargo area; hard-top builds use 87E/87H panel and door bags. On the 2-door there's no on-vehicle door storage — plan a garage rack.

Bronco questions

Which 2027 Broncos come as a 2-door?

Only Base and Badlands.

Can I get the V6 in a 2-door Bronco?

No. The 3.0L V6 is 4-door only; 2-doors use the 2.3L EcoBoost.

Does the 2-door Bronco come with a hard top?

Yes, the 2-door Base has the Carbonized Gray hard top standard; the 4-door Base has a soft top standard.

Is the 2-door Bronco good in winter?

It's capable with 4x4 and the hard top, but the short wheelbase can feel busier on icy highways; the 4-door rides calmer.

Can I get Dual Tops on a 2-door?

No. Dual Tops (66J) is 4-door only.

Where can I see both near Barron?

Swant Graber Ford, 1697 E Division Ave, Barron, WI, 715-537-9500.

How much bigger is the 4-door Bronco?

About 16 inches longer, with more rear legroom and up to roughly 83 cu ft of cargo vs about 52 cu ft in the 2-door (Ford figures; confirm for 2027).

Hard top or soft top for winter?

The hard top: it's better insulated, quieter, more secure and keeps a rear wiper, which the soft top lacks.

How long does it take to remove Bronco doors?

Roughly 5-10 minutes per door with the included tools; mirrors are cowl-mounted and stay on.

Can you store the doors inside a Bronco?

On the 4-door, yes, with available storage bags. The 2-door has no on-vehicle door storage.
